In my opinion, N64 is still the greatest console ever made. It brought me from the 2-D land to the three dimensional land of Mario 64. I remember first getting this console and Mario 64 and trying to figure out what my objectives were. I could barely comprehend the concept of sandbox games. How you are free to roam the land and do as you wish. Take on each mission or task in any order you want...
However, once I figured it out, there was no going back. N64 opened up a whole new world of gaming I was only just ready for.

In recent times the jump from Playstation 2 to Playstation 3 was big, but not huge. The graphical improvements were there, but nothing worth dying over. I also felt like most games and game companies didn't change their gaming dynamics. Sure, the graphics are better, but the gameplay was exactly the same. I remember moving on from Madden NFL on the PS2 to PS3... the graphics were slightly better but honestly, I was too into the gameplay and trying to beat the other team that I didn't pay all that much attention to the graphics anyway.

Looking back, it's pretty tough to see the graphical upgrades from PS2 to PS3
I needed a new way to play. Now, I'm not saying we should get helmets that plug into our brain to let us experience gaming in a whole new way... but I don't know, what can companies come out with that will really blow us away? I appreciate that Nintendo tried to change things with the Wii. I had tons of fun with that system when I had friends over. Wii Bowling and Wii Tennis were amazing games but definitely didn't enjoy having friends over to hang out and end up drenched in sweat, potentially leading to a sweaty-palm-rocket-firing-wii-remote-into-HDTV scenario.

With the release of Playstation 4 and Xbox One, what do you like most about the upgrade from current gen to "next gen"? Are you really that blown away by the graphical upgrades? Are you seeing more fluidity in your gameplay? Was the upgrade worth it, and if you had the option to wait a little longer for the systems' release, what would you want it to have?
